Crown Agrees to Purchase GoldKist Building in Dunwoody

Crown Holdings Group (“CHG”) announced that one of its affiliated companies has recently entered into a binding agreement to purchase the 15 acre Gold Kist Foods site. The property is located at the northwest intersection of Ashford Dunwoody Road and I -285. It is in the City of Dunwoody and is one of the most prominent properties located in the Central Perimeter market. CHG has been eyeing the site for over a year and will close on the transaction before yearend.

A seasoned team of Atlanta and international real estate experts was assembled by Blair Schlossberg and Moshe Manoah over the past few years to focus on office and hospitality development. The purchase of this property will increase their holdings of “Class A” commercial properties in the North Atlanta market to over 200 acres. Meetings with the local government interests and the community have been ongoing and will continue.

The company philosophy is to provide value to the community, users and investors. To date, we have been successful in doing this in the single family, multi family and retail areas. The logical progression and final phase of our business plan with office and hospitality began in earnest in the past few years and this asset fits seamlessly into our philosophy and fiscal model.

Crown Holdings Group principal, Blair Schlossberg stated, “The property has been the corporate headquarters of two of Georgia’s greatest corporations in the past. We intend to keep that tradition moving forward.” He further stated, “the property’s location in the City of Dunwoody, with it’s reputation for being a “People Place” was important for choosing this asset.”

The existing 3 story headquarter building has an excellent layout, provides extensive natural light, offers water features and is adaptable to a wide variety of office uses. The property location provides the ability to attract the greatest talent and brightest minds in the Metro Atlanta area.
